Bloodhounds Beat Warriors in 10
|
The Boise Bloodhounds beat the Winfield Warriors, 5-4, at Grand Canyon Valley Park. The Bloodhounds got a fine performance from right fielder Dave Garza, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Even with the win, the Bloodhounds have a dismal 32-61 record.
The Bloodhounds got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Tim Sykes. For the game, Sykes was 1 for 1. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 12th hit of the season gave Boise a 5-4 lead.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Boise field general Todd Barrett.
