Hornets Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Tree City
|
Starting pitcher Eric Sauer pitched well enough to help the Bethesda Hornets beat the Tree City Black Squirrels by the score of 8-4. Sauer got the win, improving to 8-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Sauer allowed 3 earned runs. The last-place Hornets improved to 43-49.
Billy Jorgensen drew 1 walk for Bethesda. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chris Hodges. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Sauer said.
