Gnats Get One-Run Win at Winfield
The Nichols Gnats downed the Winfield Warriors, 4-3, at The Barn. The Gnats were led by Dusty Martella, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nichols is now 34-49, Winfield 38-48.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when right fielder Ben Gleason, who is tied for 6th in the LBL in stolen bases with 20, hit a single. The Gnats went on to win.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Nichols manager Bruce Joyner.
