Bombers Edge Past Pioneers, 2-1
|
South Carolina and Vancouver left the Bomber Ballpark crowd in suspense until the last at-bat.
South Carolina Bombers starter Braden Halladay turned in a sterling performance against the Vancouver Pioneers, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. The winner was Ivan Perez in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Wilson Deleón took the loss.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from first baseman Steve Lindsey. For the game, Lindsey was 2-6 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the 12th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 52nd hit of the season gave South Carolina a 2-1 lead.
"This place sure got loud," said Randy Huggett, the South Carolina manager.
Vancouver, at 24-33, has lost 5 straight.
