Jedi Knights Come Back Late, Nip Vikings
|
The Victoria Vikings and New Orleans Jedi Knights provided some drama at The Republic.
New Orleans Jedi Knights starter Brian Warkentin was in fine form against the Victoria Vikings at The Republic, leading his team to a 3-2 win. New Orleans reliever Ben Sullivan was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Shane Jacobs took the loss. Bobby Wallace got the save, his 8th in 9 chances.
Had Ross Stinson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Stinson hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Jedi Knights.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Warkentin told the New Orleans Daily News.
The Jedi Knights have an impressive 52-32 record.
