Cyclones Lose, 6-2, at Saints Ballpark
|
St. Paul rode a decent outing from starter Cheng-ji Guan to victory over the Coney Island Cyclones at Saints Ballpark. The final score was 6-2. In 6.2 innings, Guan surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. St. Paul is now 41-42, Coney Island 44-37.
Jim Bruce had a big 2-run double for the Saints in the bottom of the fifth inning. With St. Paul leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Steve Rogers Jr. and stroked the double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bruce. "And not try to do too much."
