In a well-pitched game between the Okanagan Lake Monsters and the Bethesda Hornets, pitcher Barney Archer was fantastic. The Okanagan right-hander was named the player of the game in Okanagan's 3-1 win. Archer got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 2 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. Archer allowed 1 earned run. Dusty Mast earned his 21st save in 22 chances.

Kunihiko Kinoshita aided the Okanagan cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Archer said.

The Lake Monsters bumped their record to 42-38 with this latest triumph.
