Frosties Come Back Late to Clip Gnats
|
Nichols designated hitter Dusty Martella had a good game, even if his team did not. The Gnats dropped a 5-3 decision to Barrow at The Pond. Martella went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Barrow reliever Jimmy Martin, now 3-3. The loser was Ezra Bryan. Alex Rosario converted his 15th save in 18 tries.
Pedro Paredes, who is tied for 10th in the DML in triples with 3, aided the Barrow cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Paredes said.
Nichols, at 30-47, has lost 5 straight.
