Jedi Knights Turn Back Bel Air, 5-3
|
New Orleans Jedi Knights starter Jonathan Pickard was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Bel Air Princes, 5-3. New Orleans reliever Sean Cassetty picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Cole Sanford was collared with the loss. Bobby Wallace was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 7 save opportunities.
The Jedi Knights got a big at-bat from center fielder Shigeaki Yoshida. For the game, Yoshida went 1-3 with a double and 2 walks. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 12th double of the season gave New Orleans a 4-3 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Yoshida said after the game.
The Jedi Knights have an impressive 48-29 record.
