Jedi Knights Squelch Princes Offense in Shutout Win
|
Pitcher Jesús Espinosa was sensational for the New Orleans Jedi Knights in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Bel Air Princes. Espinosa received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Bobby Wallace was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities. The Jedi Knights have an impressive 47-29 record.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when right fielder Shigeaki Yoshida, who is tied for 8th in the LBL with a .895 OPS, drew a walk. The Jedi Knights went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Yoshida told the New Orleans Daily News.
