Lake Monsters Prevail, 5-3, Over Atlantic City
|
Cesar Ortiz made an impact in the 5-3 Okanagan win over Atlantic City. Ortiz, who is tied for 10th in the LBL in doubles with 14, was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mauricio Ayala, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Dusty Mast was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 21 save opportunities.
Ortiz had a key at-bat for Okanagan early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Okanagan an early 3-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Ortiz said.
The Lake Monsters bumped their record to 40-36 with this latest triumph.
