Otis Excels, But Black Squirrels Win
Victoria third baseman Will Otis had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-7, to Tree City at The Nut House. Otis went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Tree City reliever Bob Galloway picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Jorge Ortega absorbed the loss. Zach Faulkner converted his 5th save in 7 tries.

Tree City took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, first baseman Jay Liburdi hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

Liburdi called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."

The 5th-place Black Squirrels have won 4 consecutive games.
