The Pond was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Okanagan Lake Monsters and the Nichols Gnats.

The Okanagan Lake Monsters defeated the Nichols Gnats, 8-7, at The Pond. Okanagan third baseman John Skelton was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Okanagan starter Shi-xian Ouyang was credited with the win after throwing 79 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 5-6. Dusty Mast converted his 19th save in 20 tries.

Skelton had a key at-bat for Okanagan early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and gave Okanagan an early 3-0 lead.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Bhim Varuni said.

The Lake Monsters bumped their record to 39-35 with this latest triumph.
