The Winfield Warriors topped the Kingwood Knights by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Jose Yepez. Yepez was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Warriors. Winfield reliever Chris Wilson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Shan Huo took the loss. Dave Milar notched his 16th save in 17 chances.

Yepez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 cutter from C.J. Johnsen, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Warriors a 6-5 lead. It was the 14th double of the year for Yepez.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Yepez told the Winfield Observer.

The Warriors improved to 32-38.
