Sting Topple Pelicans with Late Rally
The St. Petersburg Pelicans got a superb performance from pitcher José Carlos Ramírez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Houston. The Sting won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Ramírez was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. Houston reliever Jesse Spence picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Richard Ortiz took the loss. Houston has now won 4 straight.

The Sting got a big at-bat from catcher Felipe Gallegos. For the game, Gallegos was 1-4. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 46th hit of the season gave Houston a 5-4 lead.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Houston manager Héctor Flores.
