Jedi Knights Lose, 6-3, at Elks Stadium
|
Tim Gamelli was instrumental in his team's 6-3 triumph over the New Orleans Jedi Knights. The designated hitter went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Okanagan Lake Monsters. Tony Salas, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 9-3. The Lake Monsters bumped their record to 35-32 with this latest triumph.
Gamelli had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run double. The Lake Monsters went on to win.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Gamelli told the Okanagan Daily News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
