Cyclones Turn Back Panthers, 6-4
|
Coney Island and Charleston duked it out at Franklin Mountains Field and the Cyclones came out victorious.
Charleston designated hitter Morihiko Eda had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Eda was 1-1 with 3 walks, even as Coney Island beat the Panthers, 6-4. Eda was named the player of the game despite the loss. Steve Rogers Jr. got the win, improving to 1-4. He held the Panthers to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 6.
Mario Marroquín aided the Coney Island cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Marroquín told the Coney Island Today.
The Cyclones bumped their record to 37-28 with this latest triumph.
