Victory Pushes Black Squirrels Record to 33-32
|
Tree City and Westside duked it out at Road Warriors Field and the Black Squirrels came out victorious.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Pete Leggett, the Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the Westside Road Warriors, 4-1. Leggett was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Black Squirrels. Juan Bojorques picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-2.
Tree City took a 3-1 lead on Ryan Salzman's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Westside pitcher Jim Stephens in the top of the eighth.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Westside skipper Wilfred Brooks, "and it cost us."
Tree City, now 33-32, holds 4th place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
