Hornets Bang Out 10-7 Win Versus Eugene
|
Bethesda and Eugene duked it out at Prefontaine Park and the Hornets came out victorious.
Behind a solid performance from catcher Toshiya Shiraishi, the Bethesda Hornets defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 10-7. Shiraishi was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hornets. Bethesda reliever Adam Dunn picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Jung-sang Lee shouldered the loss.
Shiraishi had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Hornets went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Shiraishi told the Bethesda Chronicle.
The Hornets saw their record improve to 31-34.
