The Westside Road Warriors grabbed a 7-5 win over the Tree City Black Squirrels at Road Warriors Field. Westside right fielder Ben Templeman went 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Roger Day notched his 16th save in 18 chances. After today's action, Westside sits at 33-29, while Tree City falls to 32-32.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when pinch hitter John Corkum hit a double. The Road Warriors went on to win.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Corkum told the Westside Chronicle.
