Sting Win at Bel Air, 6-1
|
The Houston Sting defeated the Bel Air Princes, 6-1, at Philip Banks Field today. Leading the charge for Houston was third baseman Gabe Jones. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Alberto Dimas, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 5.1 innings. The Sting bumped their record to 35-30 with this latest triumph.
Jones had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-2 slider from Fernando Buzo, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Sting a 3-0 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Jones.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Jones. "And not try to do too much."
