The St. Petersburg Pelicans beat the Atlantic City Kings, 10-4, at Billy Mathews Field. The Pelicans got a fine performance from designated hitter Lou Schanowski, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Javy Alvarado got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6.1 innings. St. Petersburg now has a 3-game win streak.

Schanowski had a key at-bat for St. Petersburg early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave St. Petersburg an early 4-0 lead.
