Emeralds Rally For Late Win Over Black Squirrels
|
The Eugene Emeralds did just enough to sneak past the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-3, at The Nut House. Eugene pitcher Franklin Cadonau earned player of the game honors. Cadonau picked up the win for Eugene, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-4. The Emeralds bumped their record to 31-30 with this latest triumph.
Miguel Guerra drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Eugene. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Zach Faulkner. It was his 17th walk of the season.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Guerra said.
