Sting Subdue Westside, 4-2
|
The Sting had to overcome a good performance from Westside pitcher Eddie Cory to claim a 4-2 win at Woodland Park. Cory went 6 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Austin Hearn, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. The Sting are now 33-29, while the Road Warriors fall to 31-28.
Early in the game, first baseman Logan Schoen had a 2-run double for Houston. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Sting on top, 3-1.
In postgame comments to the Houston Bulletin, Schoen said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
