Princes Prevail, 2-1, Over Bethesda
|
Bethesda got a terrific performance from pitcher Jung-hoon Pak, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bel Air Princes. Bel Air won the Philip Banks Field contest, 2-1. Pak was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. Bel Air reliever Lee Krause picked up the win, upping his record to 9-3. Jung-hoon Pak took the loss. Bel Air leads the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division by 2½ games.
The Princes got a big at-bat from center fielder Alex Vaca. For the game, Vaca went 1 for 2 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Bel Air a 2-1 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Bel Air manager Leland Austin.
