Victory Pushes Cyclones Record to 33-24
|
The Coney Island Cyclones defeated the Kingwood Knights, 5-2, at Coney Island Coliseum. Coney Island shortstop Bill Cadavid was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Coney Island now has a 3-game win streak.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from third baseman Bill Upton. For the game, Upton went 1-4. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Coney Island a 2-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Coney Island manager Roger Fievet.
