Bloodhounds Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Nichols
|
It was a good time at Grand Canyon Valley Park, where fans came to watch the Nichols Gnats and Boise Bloodhounds get after it.
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Roberto Ayala, the Boise Bloodhounds defeated the Nichols Gnats, 7-3. Ayala belted 2 home runs for the Bloodhounds. Jason Loer earned the win for Boise. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 4-5.
In the bottom of the 6th, first baseman Victor Rodriguez gave Boise the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Bloodhounds had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out home run off Nichols pitcher Andre Oliver changed that -- and Boise went on to win.
"I felt good up there," said Ayala. "I saw the ball well."
The last-place Gnats have lost 6 straight games.
