Andrade, Jedi Knights Rough Up Gnats
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights topped the Nichols Gnats, 12-2, with youngster Ernesto Andrade playing a key role. Andrade was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Jedi Knights in the win. The winner was Arturo Corona, who threw 90 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. George McCurry was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Heishichi Tanabe, who is tied for 6th in the LBL with a .976 OPS, aided the New Orleans cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
