Sting Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Charleston
|
Benefiting from Justin Simino's productive game, the Houston Sting downed the Charleston Panthers, 6-3. Simino went 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Sting. Houston reliever Juan Hurtado got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Yasuyuki Takata was tagged with the loss. Earning his 1st save for Houston was Jesse Spence.
Chris Allen aided the Houston cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 4 runs.
"We did a lot of things right," said Allen.
The Sting bumped their record to 29-23 with this latest triumph.
