A 5-RBI performance from Luke Van Ness, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in triples with 2, helped the Nichols Gnats beat the Bel Air Princes, 7-6. Takayuki Tominaga earned save number 6. Bel Air is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Van Ness had a game-changing triple in the top of the tenth. On a full count curveball from Toru Saito, he banged a 2-run triple to right-center, giving the Gnats a 7-5 lead. It was the 2nd triple of the year for Van Ness.
Van Ness told a Nichols Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
