The Eugene Emeralds topped the Boise Bloodhounds, 8-5, with center fielder Wil Cruz playing a big role. Cruz was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Emeralds in the win. The win was credited to Joaquín Salas in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jordan Garner took the loss. The Emeralds now have a record of 24-26 with the win over Boise.
Jose Macias drew 2 walks for Eugene. The 20-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Jordan Garner. It was his 15th RBI of the season.
