With center fielder Leonard Wright leading the charge, the Bethesda Hornets defeated the Bel Air Princes, 11-8, at Hornets Field. Wright, who is tied for 8th in the DML in home runs with 7, was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Bethesda reliever Zeke Barnes, now 1-3. The loser was Toru Saito. The Hornets saw their win-loss record go to 22-24. At the same time, the Princes fell to 27-17.
Bethesda took a 11-8 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, left fielder Sean Witter hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Wright.
