Black Squirrels Trounce Emeralds, 10-3
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels topped the Eugene Emeralds, 10-3, in Donnie Moore League action at Prefontaine Park. The player of the game was Tree City pitcher Sixto Árias. Tree City now owns a record of 21-24.
Tree City used the timely hitting of Nobuji Okamoto to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Black Squirrels on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Okamoto.
