Vikings Lose, 5-2, at The Pond
|
The Nichols Gnats and Victoria Vikings completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Nichols rode a fine outing from starter Wilson Robles to victory over the Victoria Vikings at The Pond. The final score was 5-2. Ben Bower got credit for the save for Nichols. It was his 1st of the year.
Jared Bennett hit a run-scoring double off Oscar Cruz in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Gnats in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Bennett had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.
"It's a long season," said Robles. "We'll keep working to improve."
Today's win puts Nichols at 13-27, while Victoria falls to 15-29.
