Victory Pushes Sting Record to 24-21
|
Bel Air first baseman Aaron Kelch had a good game, even if his team did not. The Princes dropped a 11-9 decision to Houston at Philip Banks Field. Kelch went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Reliever Hyun-soo Huh picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jason Jackson took the loss. Jeff Van Wormer was credited with the save for Houston, his 14th of the season.
Houston used the timely hitting of Justin Simino to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sting on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We maximized our offense today," said Houston skipper Héctor Flores. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Houston.
