Fujita Sensational for River Chiefs

Chippewa and Okanagan duked it out at The Reservation and the River Chiefs came out victorious.
The Chippewa River Chiefs topped the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 4-1, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation. The player of the game was Chippewa pitcher and Fukui, Japan native Kazue Fujita. Mark Luoto was credited with the save for Chippewa, his 8th of the season.
Fujita's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 12 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 5 hits. Fujita, who is tied for 3rd in the LBL in strikeouts with 64, goes to 3-3 on the year with 64 strikeouts.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice.
The River Chiefs, at 26-15, lead by one game in their division.
