Phillips Lifts Lake Monsters to 7-3 Win
|
The Okanagan Lake Monsters defeated the Chippewa River Chiefs, 7-3, at The Reservation. Okanagan catcher Chris Phillips was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Lake Monsters bumped their record to 21-17 with this latest triumph.
Phillips contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Okanagan in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Phillips took a sinker from Cesar Prado and stroked the double to center. His 4th double of the season allowed the Lake Monsters to leap in front, 3-2.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Phillips said.
