Rhinos Win at Seattle, 5-2
|
The Rhinos had to overcome a good performance from Seattle pitcher Shuichi Imai to claim a 5-2 win at Sick's Stadium. Imai went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Tom Hanson, who threw 105 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. Shinzo Sasaki was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Billy Joel, who is tied for 6th in the RCL in stolen bases with 21, helped out the Rubber City cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"Enjoyed this one," Joel told the Rubber City Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Rhinos, at 25-29, sit in 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
