Pioneers Raise Rally Flag, Beat South Carolina, 2-1

"The Fort" at B.C. Place was the site of a exceptional pitchers' duel.
The South Carolina Bombers wasted an impressive 7.2-inning effort from starter Ange Schmit, falling 2-1 to the Vancouver Pioneers at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Vancouver, now 4-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from center fielder Justin Nance. For the game, Nance went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Nance. "I saw the ball well."
