Cyclones Lose, 4-2, at Saints Ballpark
|
The St. Paul Saints topped the Coney Island Cyclones, 4-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at Saints Ballpark. The player of the game was St. Paul pitcher Konrad Dortmans. Aaron Burrell got credit for the save for St. Paul. It was his 4th of the year. The Saints bumped their record to 19-18 with this latest triumph.
The Saints got a big at-bat from third baseman Denny Malone. For the game, Malone went 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave St. Paul a 2-0 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Coney Island skipper Roger Fievet, "and it cost us."
