Kings Get Close Win Over Bush Wackers
The Brisbane Bush Wackers got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel Torres. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Atlantic City. The Kings won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Torres was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Atlantic City reliever Francisco Rodríguez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Tony Torres. The Kings bumped their record to 17-16 with this latest triumph.

Had Héctor García not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, García hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Kings.

Brisbane manager Pete Barrett said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
