|
Kingwood third baseman José Martínez made his presence felt in the 6-2 Knights triumph over the Charleston Panthers. Martínez was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Knights bumped their record to 19-14 with this latest triumph.
Martínez contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Kingwood in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Martínez took a fastball from Josh King and stroked the double to left. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Knights to leap in front, 3-1.
Martínez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
