Gnats Win 9-8 Walk-Off
|
Nichols right fielder Luke Van Ness had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Boise Bloodhounds, 9-8. Luis Pina, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. The Bloodhounds fall to 10-19 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Nichols center fielder Ben Gleason, facing Hidehiko Yasuda, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Gnats the 9-8 win.
"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Gleason.
