Dancin' Outlaws Come Back Late to Clip Jedi Knights
|
The Dancin' Outlaws had to overcome a good performance from New Orleans pitcher Brian Warkentin to claim a 3-1 win at The Republic. Warkentin went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Yasukatsu Yonemura picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-3. West Virginia is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 8th win in 28 games.
Yoritoki Nakashima made it 2-1, West Virginia, in the top of the eighth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Dancin' Outlaws win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Nakashima. "And not try to do too much."
