Domaszewski Slugs Grays to 6-3 Win
|
The rain at The Death Star did not keep Georgia and Mile High from finishing their game.
With shortstop Jarek Domaszewski leading the charge, the Georgia Grays defeated the Mile High Mustangs, 6-3, at The Death Star. Domaszewski, the five overall pick in the 2021 draft, went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Stone Carlton, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-1.
The Grays beat the Mustangs with some clutch hitting. The single by Jorge García in the bottom of the fifth is a good example. With two down, García gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Domaszewski. "And not try to do too much."
Georgia has now won 3 in a row.
