Atlantic City left fielder Jose Martinez was instrumental in his team's 4-2 win over the Houston Sting. Martinez went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Kings. Atlantic City reliever David Tredgett was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Jeff Van Wormer took the loss. Tom Greer was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.

Martinez had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 cutter from Jeff Van Wormer, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Kings a 3-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Martinez.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Houston skipper Héctor Flores, "and it cost us."

The Sting fall to 10-15 and continue their lackluster start in 2034.
