The Nichols Gnats picked up a win at The Pond, knocking off the Chippewa River Chiefs, 5-2. On the mound for Nichols was right-hander Leon Contreras, who played a pivotal role in the win. Contreras picked up the win for Nichols, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. With the loss, Chippewa is 14-9.
