Bombers Win at Portland, 5-1
|
The South Carolina Bombers picked up a win at Waterfront Park, knocking off the Portland Beavers, 5-1. Starting pitcher Beau Miller was an essential part of his team's success. Miller went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. The Bombers bumped their record to 29-21 with this latest triumph.
Steve Lindsey, who is the top prospect in the Bombers organization, aided the South Carolina cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3 with a hit by pitch.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lindsey said after the game.
