Black Squirrels Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels topped the Atlantic City Kings, 4-3, in Donnie Moore League action at The Royal Colosseum. The player of the game was Tree City pitcher Charlie Wife. The winner was Chion Hatanaka in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jeremy Jefferson took the loss. The Black Squirrels, now 14-7, have been playing some good baseball.
The Black Squirrels got a big at-bat from center fielder Danny Lowe. For the game, Lowe was 1 for 6. In the top of the 13th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Tree City a 4-3 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Tree City manager Ramón Guerrero.
