Jedi Knights Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights topped the Coney Island Cyclones, 2-1, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Republic. The player of the game was New Orleans pitcher Arturo Corona. The winner was Hirotami Asada in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Bill Brock took the loss. The Jedi Knights, now 13-7, have been playing some good baseball.
The Jedi Knights got a big at-bat from third baseman Shinji Kakuta. For the game, Kakuta went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave New Orleans a 2-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Kakuta said after the game.
